Commissionerate of Revenue Administration & Disaster Management



  • This Commissionerate plays a very crucial and an essential role in the basic Revenue Administration in the State.

  • The Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management /State Relief Commissioner is assisted by the Director of Social Security Schemes, Commissioner of Disaster Management, Joint Commissioner of Revenue Administration and a team of officers.

  • Commissionerate of Revenue Administration & Disaster Management is headed by the Commissioner of Revenue Administration who looks after General Administration, Disaster Management, Issue of various licenses, Implementation of Social Security Schemes, Distress Relief Schemes, Redressal of Grievances, Issuance of certificates, preparation of National Population Register and distribution of priceless sarees and dhoties. The Commissioner of Revenue Administration is also the State Relief Commissioner and coordinates the activities of all departments to undertake search, rescue and evacuation operations and to extend relief to those affected during disasters. He supervises the function of all the District Disaster Management Authorities. Besides the above the Commissioner of Revenue Administration was designated as nodal officer for the scheme of desiltation of tank silt and free distribution of the silt to the farmers and co-ordinated the work of various departments for Dengue control during the year 2017.

  • c. Tamil Nadu Explosives Act 1884
  • d. Tamil Nadu Pawn Brokers Act 1943
  • e. Public Buildings Licence Act 1965
  • f. Tamil Nadu Birth and Death Registration Act 1969
  • g. Tamil Nadu Exorbitant Interest Prevention Act 2003
  • h. Disaster Management Act 2005

Re-organisation of Administrative Boundaries and Formation of New Administrative Units
Re-organisation of Administrative Boundaries and Formation of New Administrative Units Based on the request of the general public, in order to avail the services of the Government in the residence itself, and further to improve service delivery and to reach out to communities living in far flung areas, the Government have created Districts, New Sub Divisions, Taluks as per the guidelines laid down for the purpose. A three member committee consist of Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Commissioner of Land Administration and Commissioner of Land Reforms has been formed so as to recommend the Government for creation of new taluks based on the population

Revenue Buildings

  • In order to improve the working environment and to enable easy access to public, the Government accord priority to provide proper infrastructure facilities such as construction of office buildings, office-cum-residential buildings and residential quarters from the level of Collectors down to the level of Village Administrative Officers.
